Whidbey Island Climate and Weather Forecast

Much of Whidbey Island lies in the rainshadow from the Olympic Mountain Range, which makes Whidbey somewhat drier than much of Seattle, Tacoma, and the Puget Sound. Northern Whidbey Island tends to get more wind and cold air through the Strait of Juan de Fuca, while Southern Whidbey Island is more temperate.
